Mold Report

Here are the Topics We'll Discuss in This Report:

  • How Serious Is This Mold Threat?
  • What's Your First Step?
  • Don't Panic And Waste Thousands Of Dollars

I've been working in this industry since early 1996, and in that time, I've found that far too many people have serious misconceptions when it comes to the subject of mold.

I knew I needed to find a way to get reliable information into the hands of those who needed it most.

This report series, and the GetMoldSolutions.com website is the result of that endeavor. I know it will become an invaluable resource for you.

Mold has become a HUGE topic in the media, but unfortunately there's a lot of bad information flying around out there, as well as a lot of unethical businesses who are taking advantage of unsuspecting consumers.

The media coverage on this subject has got the public in a "mold frenzy", wondering what to do and where to go for answers.

This report series will give you solid No B.S. information that you can use to locate and remove the possible mold threat in your home.

I've sectioned this report series in to 7 separate topics and you'll receive one topic every other day.

I don't want to overwhelm you with too much information at once. That's why I chose to break the report down and offer it to you in small, easy to understand sections.

So be sure to stay on the mailing list until you've received the entire series.

This report series is going to give you an in depth education on the subject of mold, which will in turn allow you to make more informed decisions for yourself and your family.

In addition, I now offer you a monthly newsletter so I can answer your specific questions and give you the additional information you may be looking for.

After you've received the complete report series, you'll be sent a questionnaire. If you still have questions that I haven't answered, or if you need additional information, be sure to let me know at this time.

I'll do everything I can to address your specific concerns, then discuss the topic in an upcoming newsletter for you.

With that said, let's get into the first report.

How Serious Is This Mold Threat?

Mold, the fungus that gave us the wonder drug penicillin, is now being blamed for everything from asthma to cancer to immune deficiencies.

Increasingly, Americans are worrying - some experts say panicking - about getting sick from the black fuzz that can grow, unseen and unchecked, behind walls in our homes, schools and offices.

So how big of a problem is it?

Some scientists call mold a potentially new, serious health threat. Others say concern is overblown. But whatever their belief, more people are paying attention.

For the first time, the Department of Health is working with federal and local officials to clean up mold and improve air quality. Tens of thousands of dollars are being spent to clean up mold in buildings where we work, play and sleep.

And while national experts debate how bad the problem really is, researchers for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency may have developed a way to find answers.

Mold 101

Baby boomers were taught that living things are divided into two kingdoms, plants and animals. Now, science students learn that fungi are a kingdom of their own. Types of fungi include mushrooms, mildew and mold.

There are hundreds of kinds of mold; scientists can't even agree on how many. One kind - Penicillium - gives us the antibiotic penicillin.

Dr. Eckhart Johanning, an Albany, N.Y., mold expert and the head of the Fungal Research Group, is concerned.

"Mold has great public health impact. If we can make a small dent in this, I think we will make a great difference in people's quality of life," Dr. Johanning says.

What's Your First Step?

If you think you have a possible mold problem, it's important that you take action immediately.

If you suspect or know of any water leak or intrusion, such as refrigerator or freezer problems, leaking or dripping pipes, water heater leaks, broken or leaking washing machine hoses, standing water under home foundation, etc, don't take these situations lightly.

Many times a homeowner will assume that because everything is dry on the surface, there is no problem.

Meanwhile, trapped moisture in wall cavities, under carpeting, etc is causing extensive mold growth and putting everyone who lives in your home at risk.

Perhaps you just smell a musty odor, which is also a sign of hidden mold growth.

If you're currently facing any of these situations, you'll find the following information especially valuable.

The first step is to have your home tested.

But Most Importantly, Don't Panic and Waste Thousands On Expensive Mold Testing

Although the cost for hiring someone to do mold testing is a considerable expense, I've got good news for you.

You don't have to spend a lot of money on the initial testing process. You'll save yourself up to $1,749 by taking the initial samples yourself.

The easiest and most cost effective way to test for mold is with a simple do it yourself mold test kit.

You'll need two test kits. Use the first test to get a sample of the air outside your home. This sets the baseline.

The second test kit is used to take an indoor air sample of your home, that can then be compared with the outdoor sample.

If the indoor sample is considerably higher than the outdoor sample, you have a situation that needs to be dealt with.

Once you've collected your samples, you simply mail them to the lab. The lab will send the results back to you via email or fax, whichever you prefer.

This is the most cost effective way to find out if you have a mold problem in your home. If you've had a known recent water intrusion, it's especially important that you test for mold.

The test kit I recommend is the most economical option available. Buy it online here.
